The European Beer Consumers Union (EBCU) is pleased to announce its endorsement of the Greek Beer Awards, a commercial beer competition open to breweries from Greece, Southeastern and Eastern Europe, and the Mediterranean region. The endorsement was approved by EBCU delegates at their 73rd meeting in Rome in April 2026.
Founded in 2017 by Nicola Radisis and BeerBartender, building on a consumer awards tradition that dates back to 2014, the Greek Beer Awards has grown into the leading competition for its region. It invites well-known international judges to ensure transparent and objective results, and currently spans thirteen categories covering a wide range of styles.
The competition serves a part of Europe where brewing culture is developing rapidly but where breweries have fewer opportunities to benchmark their work through internationally recognised competition. EBCU’s endorsement reflects the Greek Beer Awards’ commitment to independent judging, quality evaluation, and promoting beer culture across the broader Mediterranean area.
