The European Beer Consumers Union (EBCU) gathered in Warsaw, Poland, on 17–18 October 2025 for its 72nd Delegates Meeting, hosted by the Polish homebrewing association PSPD (Polskie Stowarzyszenie Piwowarów Domowych). Delegates from across Europe met for two days of lively discussion, strategic thinking, and shared passion for beer culture – all set alongside the Warsaw Beer Festival, Poland’s largest celebration of beer.
The meeting combined serious debate with the warmth and hospitality of the Polish beer scene. Sessions were held at Browary Warszawskie, a beautifully restored historic brewery complex, and at The Taps, one of Warsaw’s great craft beer venues. Delegates also joined PSPD’s 15th Anniversary Gala at the festival and enjoyed a special beer crawl highlighting the diversity of Polish craft brewing.
Key outcomes and discussions

Delegates discussed the upcoming “Brewed Where?” campaign, which will promote transparency in beer labelling and encourage consumers to make informed choices about where their beer is brewed.

The meeting featured a wide-ranging debate on the crisis in European brewing, with representatives sharing experiences from their own countries and exploring how EBCU can act as a positive, uniting voice for beer consumers.

EBCU’s budget for 2026 was approved, with a dedicated working group established to prepare a new long-term plan for 2027 and beyond.

Updates were shared from EBCU’s working groups on beer styles, wellbeing, homebrewing, and communications, reflecting the many ongoing projects across the organisation.
Continued collaboration with CAMRA
EBCU and CAMRA have agreed on a transitional arrangement for 2026, as part of a strategic reassessment of CAMRA’s core activities. From 1 July 2026, CAMRA will continue as an associate member of EBCU. CAMRA remains committed to supporting EBCU and its campaigning across a range of important areas.
Looking ahead
The next EBCU delegates meetings will take place in Rome (April 2026) and Germany (Autumn 2026).
With new initiatives, renewed energy, and a clear sense of purpose, the Warsaw meeting showed that EBCU continues to move forward together – strengthening cooperation among its members and standing up for Europe’s beer consumers.
