EBCU had its 66th Delegates meeting last week-end in Dublin, Ireland.
Bo L. Jensen (Danske Ølentusiaster – Denmark) stepped down from the Chairman position he was holding since 2018 and is being replaced by André Brunnsberg (Olutliitto – Finland) for the next two years.

Additionnally, Hans Peter Jepsen (Danske Ølentusiaster – Denmark) and Chris Welsh (CAMRA – UK) were elected as new Executive members.

Across Europe, home brewers are facing growing pressure from tax authorities. EBCU is calling on the European Commission and member states to recognise home brewing for what it is: a cultural and educational activity, not a tax problem.
EBCU has launched a formal endorsement scheme for professional and expert-level beer education programmes across Europe. The scheme is open to any organisation and assesses programmes against three criteria: independence, educational quality, and consumer awareness.
EBCU endorses the Greek Beer Awards, recognising a competition that has championed quality brewing across Greece, Southeastern Europe, and the Mediterranean since 2017.
